Keeping Your Christmas Tree Fresh
The most important thing is to keep the fresh cut moist. Do not let it dry out. Once the stump end dries and seals over, it can no longer absorb water.
The tree may absorb a gallon or more of water the first day. Check daily and add additional water before container empties.
If not bringing it in the house, keep in water, in a cool, shady location.
Keep your tree away from heat sources such as fireplaces, heater vents, and televisions, as heat will dry it out.
Your tree will last longer if tree lights are not kept on all the time.
